Residents Sought For Lower Merion Human Relations Commission
The HRC ensures that all persons enjoy the full benefits of citizenship and are afforded equal opportunities on Lower Merion Township.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Residents in Lower Merion Township who want to help shape their community are invited to apply for positions on the Human Relations Commission.
The township's Human Relations Commission meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday every month and consists of seven members and two alternates. Alternates can participate in any proceeding or discussion of the HRC but are not be entitled to vote as a regular member of the HRC unless seated.
The purpose of the HRC is to ensure that all persons, regardless of race, color, religious creed, ancestry, age, sex, national origin, physical or mental disability, use of guide or support animals because of the blindness, deafness or physical or mental disability of the user or because the user is a handler or trainer of support or guide animals, or because of a person's sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression enjoy the full benefits of citizenship and are afforded equal opportunities for employment, housing, commercial property, and the use of public accommodations, in Lower Merion Township.

Experience in equal opportunity laws, investigation of complaints, dispute resolution including mediation, or as a human relations professional is preferred.

Qualified residents who want to serve on the commission should complete the Boards & Commissions Application Form, available online here.
Completed applications and a current resumes should be submitted to Jody L. Kelley, Township Secretary, by mail to 75 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA 19003 or by e-mail to jkelley@lowermerion.org by Monday, Nov. 1.
