Major Power Outages In Lower Merion Area: PECO

The nor'easter that is tearing through the region is causing power outages for hundreds of residents in the Lower Merion area.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA – Thousands of people are experiencing power outages due to the harsh weather that is gripping the region as a nor'easter dumps snow, rain, and strong winds on the area.

According to PECO's outage map, roughly 5,500 Lower Merion-area customers experienced power outages due to Friday's storm.

PECO is reporting about 51,450 Montgomery County customers have seen power outages Friday, as of 4 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph were expected, as well as rain and wet snow, along with flooding risks.

The storm has already caused impacts in the Philadelphia area. SEPTA is reporting several delays. Hundreds of flights out of Philadelphia International Airport are also delayed or canceled. Travelers should check with their carrier before departing to the airport.
