Some guidelines for the upcoming open house events include only one parent or guardian attendance, COVID symptom screening, and mask usage.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — With the 2021-22 school year underway, parents and guardians are getting ready to visit the children's schools for open house events.
And the Lower Merion School District is laying out health and safety guidelines for its upcoming open house events, which are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday this week and next week. See the district's calendar here to find your school's open house.
The district said during open house events, masks must be worn indoors for the duration of the event. Those who do not comply will be asked to leave.

The district is also asking one parent or guardian per family attend the event. Each school will also host a virtual open house.
Parents/guardians planning to attend are to review the daily screener for COVID symptoms before the events. Anyone experiencing symptoms should stay home and attend virtually.

The district is also barring gatherings in hallways, entryways, and other indoor locations. All gatherings must take place outside.
Lastly, the district is urging adherence to the open house schedule to avoid crowded situations in lobbies and hallways. Family members should report directly to their assigned classrooms in a timely manner.
The district said 95 percent of its staff have been vaccinated and the 80 percent of eligible students have been vaccinated.
