See Lower Merion Schools' Student COVID Testing Details
Parents and guardians are urged to pre-register their children for testing in the event they are exposed to the virus.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion School District recently announced details of its student coronavirus testing policies.
According to the district, getting tested at one of the schools is likely more convenient than finding an outside test center and waiting for results.
Lead Supervisor of School Health and Student Safety Terry Quinlan is urging district families to sign their children up for testing.

In K through 6th grade, testing is available in these instances:
- Illness develops at school: We will call you if your child becomes or feels ill during the school day and test them in the health suite. Students may not come to school if they are symptomatic in accordance with the daily screener.
- Testing out of quarantine: Students who are quarantined as a result of an in-school exposure may return after seven days of quarantine instead of 10 if they are tested five to seven days after exposure. Testing for out of quarantine is done outside of LMHS cafeteria daily between 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is not done during the school day.
- Testing for vaccinated close contacts: Students who are identified as in-school close contacts of a positive student may be tested three to five days after exposure in accordance with recommendations of the MCOPH. This will be done in the health suite.
The same applies for grades 7 through 12, but an additional aspect is included. That incidence is related to extracurricular activities, which include students in identified higher-risk athletic and other extracurricular activities.
