As new cases of the coronavirus are going up in the region, we are taking a look at the latest figures for Lower Merion Township.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Cases of the coronavirus are going up again in the Philadelphia region, so what are Lower Merion Township's latest figures?

As of Friday, the township has seen 677 cases of the virus.

Of those cases, 373 have been women and 303 have been men. The gender for one case has not been identified.

  • 0 to 9 — 12
  • 10 to 19 — 35
  • 20 to 29 — 72
  • 30 to 39 — 69
  • 40 to 49 — 79
  • 50 to 59 — 81
  • 60 to 69 — 85
  • 70 to 79 — 58
  • 80 to 89 — 109
  • 90 and older — 74

The average of Lower Merion residents with the virus is about 57.

Lower Merion has the second highest concentration of coronavirus cases of all Montgomery County municipalities. Norrsitown Borough has the most cases with 1,123.

Nearby in Narberth Borough, just 23 cases have been reported since the start of the epidemic. The borough has also seen no virus-related deaths.

Montgomery County, as of Friday, has 9,256 cases.

In addition to having the second highest number of cases, Lower Merion has the second highest number of deaths.

Friday's data shows 84 people in Lower Merion have died from the virus. Springfield Township has the highest number of deaths with 90.

Of Lower Merion's 84 deaths, 49 have been women and 35 have been men.

One person was in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, four were in their 60s, 10 were in their 70s, 40 were in their 80s, and 28 were 90 and above.

The county has seen a total of 817 deaths related to the virus since March 17.
