For the week ending Dec. 10, the township had a 204.31 per 100,000 person incidence rate, which is up from 171.96 the previous week.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The coronavirus is still affecting the lives of Lower Merion Township residents as healthcare workers are given the first doses of the Pfizer vaccine.
As of Friday, nearly 1,700 residents have been infected by the coronavirus.
The most recent data from Montgomery County shows a total of 1,698 Lower Merion residents currently have or have had the virus.

Below are age range breakdowns of cases to date:
- 0 to 9 — 78
- 10 to 19 — 212
- 20 to 29 — 269
- 30 to 39 — 197
- 40 to 49 — 232
- 50 to 59 — 193
- 60 to 69 — 170
- 70 to 79 — 125
- 80 to 89 — 137
- 90 and older — 83
The average age of a Lower Merion resident infected with the virus is 45.6.

Nine hundred thirteen women have been infected by the virus and 781 men have been infected. The gender for four cases have not been identified.
For the week ending Dec. 10, the township had a 204.31 per 100,000 person incidence rate, which is up from 171.96 the previous week. Additionally, the 14-day positivity rate went up from 4.69 percent to 5.13 percent the week ending Dec. 10.
As of Friday, 89 people in Lower Merion Township have died from the virus.
Of those deaths, two people were in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, five were in their 60s, 12 were in their 70s, 41 were in their 80s, and 28 were 90 and above. Of the 89 deaths, 51 have been women and 38 have been men.
Montgomery County overall has had 28,844 cases of the coronavirus, as well as 951 coronavirus related deaths, as of Friday.
