See Lower Merion's Latest Coronavirus Figures As PA Cases Surge

Since last week, the township has seen nearly four dozen new cases of the virus, but no additional deaths. See full data here.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Township, like the rest of Pennsylvania, is seeing more cases of the coronavirus.

Over the past week, nearly four dozen new cases have been identified in the township.

According to Montgomery County, 44 more cases were identified in Lower Merion since Oct. 30.

The total number of cases reported in the township to date is 1,068.

Pennsylvania reported a new high of 3,384 coronavirus cases Friday, setting a new record for the highest single-day case increase since the pandemic began. Pennsylvania's statewide case total now stands at 223,950.

Below are age range breakdowns of cases to date:

  • 0 to 9 — 37
  • 10 to 19 — 126
  • 20 to 29 — 161
  • 30 to 39 — 118
  • 40 to 49 — 126
  • 50 to 59 — 119
  • 60 to 69 — 111
  • 70 to 79 — 76
  • 80 to 89 — 118
  • 90 and older — 76

The average age of a Lower Merion resident infected with the virus is 48.8.

Five hundred sixty-seven women have been infected by the virus and 499 men have been infected. The gender for two cases have not been identified.

For the week ending Oct. 29, the township had a 68.1 per 100,000 person incidence rate, which is down from 73.21 the previous week

However, the 14-day positivity rate went up from 1.95 percent to 2.37 percent the week ending Oct. 29.

No new deaths were reported over the last week, keeping the township's coronavirus death toll at 85.

Of those deaths, one person was in their 40s, one person was in their 50s, four were in their 60s, 10 were in their 70s, 41 were in their 80s, and 28 were 90 and above. Additionally, 49 women and 35 men have died in Lower Merion.

Montgomery County overall has had 14,658 cases of the coronavirus, as well as 843 coronavirus related deaths.
