SEPTA Modifies Schedule For Villanova Parade

The Villanova parade on Friday is expected to be pretty wild.

Things might be getting pretty wild on Friday.

The Villanova victory parade is expected to be large enough that SEPTA has modified its schedule.

The Norristown High Speed Line, Market-Frankford Line, and the Broad Street Line will be operating at an increased capacity during the celebration Friday, SEPTA announced on their website.

The Norristown High Speed Line provides service from the Villanova University area with stops at Radnor, Villanova, and Stadium stations. NHSL customers should transfer to the Market Frankford Line at 69th St. Transportation Center for service to Center City. Travel on the Norristown High Speed Line could be extremely heavy at the end of the parade, SEPTA said.

The Market and Frankford and Broad Street Lines will remain open during the parade, in addition to operating at increased capacity.

Regional rail will depart every 30 minutes on the Paoli/Thorndale Line from Radnor, Villanova, and Rosemont, according to SEPTA.

Several SEPTA Bus Routes will also be placed on a temporary detour, including the following routes: 2, 4, 7, 16, 17, 27,31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 62, and 124/125.

The evening commute, especially on the Paoli/Thorndale Line and NHSL, could be extremely heavy as the parade will end just prior to the start of the evening rush hour.

The parade will begin at 1 p.m. at 20th and Market Street, and progress about .4 miles to Dilworth Park.
