Severe Thunderstorm Watch In 13 Eastern PA Counties

The National Weather Service is predicting severe thunderstorms in the region through Thursday evening.

PENNSYLVANIA — A servere thunderstorm watch has been declared in 13 eastern Pennsylvania counties, according to the National Weather Service.

Affected counties are Adams, Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montgomery, Philadelphia, and York.

The watch is in effect now through 9 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service, the Philadelphia region will see less than a tenth of an inch Thursday afternoon during showers and storms, but storms could bring higher totals.

Chances of showers persist until 11 p.m. followed by mostly cloudy skies, then gradually becoming mostly clear.

Thursday night's low is expected to be around 52 degrees with a 30 percent chance of precipitation.
