Small-Batch Spirit Tasting Room Opens Friday In Ardmore

Manatawny Still Works is opening a new tasting room and bottle shop in the heart of Ardmore Friday, offering its small-batch spirits.

ARDMORE, PA — A new spot to sip small-batch spirits is getting ready to open this weekend in downtown Ardmore.

This Friday, Manatawny Still Works is opening a new tasting room in the heart of Ardmore at 49 W. Lancaster Ave.

The new location will feature Manatawny Still Works's cocktail list, highlighting their original recipe small-batch spirits.

This is Manatawny Still Works's first tasting room since 2017.

"As we celebrate our 8th Year, we’re dialing in tighter on what it means to be a 'craft' spirit, and bottling our best yet," Manatawny Still Works distiller Max Pfeffer said.

"We’re grateful for our loyal following who stuck by us and saw us through some tough times over the past few years of the pandemic," partner Derek Menaldino said. "Now, we’re thrilled to be able to grow our community."

The tasting room has a copper-topped bar on one side and plenty of tables throughout, with seating for more than 50 guests.

There is also a semi-private, glass-walled breakout room in the back seats up to 12 for special events, classes, and tastings.

Ardmore’s tasting room will showcase the talents of Manatawny Still Works's own K.C. Grummun.

Grummun, an employee at the East Passyunk tasting room, will install a vibrant mural behind the glass wall of the breakout room.

Ardmore’s tasting room will serve as both a place to purchase Manatawny Still Works's line of spirits, including new releases.

Additionally, the tasting room will serve a small selection of locally-produced beer and wine.

Hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

This year, Manatawny Still Works released an American Gin finished in Port Barrels, a 3-year Select Four Grain American Whiskey finished in Cherry Brandy and Vermouth Barrels, and the distillery’s eighth anniversary whiskey made with 100 percent Pennsylvania grains, featuring 78 percent malted barley, 2 percent roasted barley, 9 percent wheat, 9 percent oats, and 2 percent rye from Double Eagle Malt in Huntingdon Valley—all grown and malted locally.

Manatawny Still Works's line of spirits can be found at the Pottstown distillery (320 Circle of Progress Drive, Suite 104), at the tasting room in South Philadelphia (1603 E. Passyunk Ave.), or at more than 100 Fine Wine & Good Spirits shops across the state.
