The long Thanksgiving weekend means a 4-day break from work for some, and the beginning of the most hectic time of the year for others as retailers begin their Black Friday sales and specials.
Several chain restaurants like Applebee’s, will be open on Thanksgiving while others like The Olive Garden, and The Outback Steakhouse will be closed. Call ahead for specifics and making reservations. Chain stores like Toys ‘R Us, Macy's, Target and Best Buy will open the evening of Thanksgiving.

- Montgomery Mall, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Target, 6 p.m. through to Black Friday
- Best Buy, 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Boscov's, 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
- Macy's, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Dick's Sporting Goods, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
- Walmart, 6 p.m. -

- Bars and restaurants: Open at owner’s discretion
