Giving a parent the gift of a smiling child at the end of every day is the primary goal of every FCS Summer Program. With offerings for boys and girls ages 3-17, we offer a variety of activities ensuring that each child will find his or her passion, making this the best summer yet! Swimming, archery, ceramics, and solar-powered s’mores are just a few of the exciting activities we have offered throughout our 90+ proven years.
Whether your child is interested in sports, computers, art, or a well-rounded day camp experience, our beautiful campuses provide a nurturing environment for young, curious minds to come alive! All of Friends’ Central’s Summer Programs are managed by FCS teachers who are invested in their school community and committed to providing a happy, enriching, and safe camp experience for every child.
With two vibrant Day Camps for boys and girls ages 3-12, we offer a variety of activities ensuring that each child will find his or her passion, making this the best summer yet! Our Tenderfoot Day Camp is specially attuned to the interests of 3- to 6-year-old children. Highlights include our outstanding swimming program, which gives students a foundation in swim safety and instruction, as well as arts and crafts, sports and games, nature, yoga, music, and drama. Our Trailblazer Day Camp is designed to accommodate the special interests of children ages 6-12, giving campers 5-6 periods of activities a day with their group, from instructional swimming, archery, and tennis to drama, arts, and crafts.
Swimming is offered twice a day at both camps and features a robust, one-of-a-kind instructional swim program for campers of all abilities, focusing on swimming safety, teaching basic strokes, and encouraging confidence in young, intermediate, and advanced swimmers.

Our Summer Scholars program continues to offer personalized intensive mathematics tutorials and our SAT prep course, which includes English, math, and test skills review with opportunities to take practice tests in a large lecture hall environment. To enrich our college readiness offerings, we have added a NEW college application essay writing course. Students will take from the course a finished, ready for submission essay for their college application.
Techies and future programmers will love our Trailblazer Enrichment Camp (TEC), which provides digital opportunities for students entering grades 5-7. TEC is designed for those campers who enjoy learning and are interested in enriching their camp experience through computer technology. Students will develop a wide breadth of knowledge in topics important in today’s world, featuring Computer Graphics and Computer Programming.
NEW for 2016! LEGO® Engineering Camp with “Einstein By Design.” Our newest partner “Einstein By Design” engages children with S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) knowledge by using 3-D printers to build working projects like wearable tech, automobiles, and drones! This half-day afternoon option can also be chosen as a pathfinder activity.
If your child enjoys basketball, our Basketball, Reading, and Math Clinic is the place to be! Designed for boys and girls entering grades 3-10, this 5-week camp focuses on the individual recreational, athletic, and academic needs of students. Students receive instruction geared toward their specific needs in a relaxed, informal setting.
Our Summer Programs take place from June 27 and August 12, 2016, with a one-week Early Start Camp beginning on June 20. Before- and after-care options are also available on both campuses. For more information or to register online, visit www.fcsprograms.org.
