SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA — Southeast Pennsylvania residents should prepare for intense heat following storms this week is set to kick off with a bang with thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds.
According to the National Weather Service, storms and showers will come through the region Monday afternoon, with wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour.
Highs Monday will near 90 degrees.

Monday night could bring up to half an inch of rain, with continued chances of showers.
Going into the rest of the week, highs will be in the low to mid 90s.

Monday
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Southwest wind 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Monday night
Showers and thunderstorms likely before 1am, then a chance of showers between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. Southwest wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 90. West wind 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Mostly clear, with a low around 74. West wind around 5 miles per hour.
