Person Killed By Train Near Wynnewood Station

SEPTA said an Amtrak train hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday morning near the Wynnewood Station. The Paoli-Thorndale line is suspended.

WYNNEWOOD, PA – Amtrak and SEPTA officials said a person died after being struck by an Amtrak train near the Wynnewood station Wednesday morning.

A person was trespassing on the tracks near the Wynnewood Station at about 10:36 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10 when a train struck the person, according to Amtrak

SEPTA officials said the Paoli-Thorndale Regional Rail line has since been suspended.

The train was heading to New York from Harrisburg and has 103 passengers on board, Amtrak said. None of the passengers or crew members were injured, Amtrak said.

The incident delayed that train for about an hour, and subsequently delayed another Amtrak train.

Amtrak Police Department is cooperating with Montgomery Fire and Police to investigate the incident, according to Amtrak.
