Tree Crashes On Car, Killing Upper Merion Man During Nor'easter

An Upper Merion man was killed by a falling tree during Friday's nor'easter, sources say.

An Upper Merion man was killed by a falling tree during Friday's nor'easter, sources say.

The man was driving a car in Upper Merion around 7 p.m. when a tree reportedly fell on his windshield, crashing through to the front seat.

Action News reports the man was 57, however, his name has not yet been released. Authorities tell the network he was driving on South Gulph Road between Arden and Upper Gulph roads when the tree fell.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a separate incident, another area man was "very seriously" injured after a tree limb fell and hit him on the head as he walked in Upper Darby, NBC reports. The victim in that incident is a Drexel Hill man.
