Walk To School Day Gets Students Moving In Ardmore
The international event had a large local contingent.

The Lower Merion School District recently participated in the annual International Walk to School Day, they announced Tuesday.
The event is aimed to reinforcing and encouraging schoolkids to get outside and be active, especially in their daily commute to class.
Two of the participating elementary schools - Belmont Hills and Penn Valley - reportedly met up at strategic locations so that large groups could walk together.

About 30 walkers from Penn Valley met on Fairview Road and were met by the school principal, Scott Mitchell, who walked with them the rest of the way, the school district said.
Several parents made snacks for children to have along the way.
