The video aims to spread the word about the Kensington school's effort to raise $20,000 due to budget constraints and high out of pocket expenses for teachers, according to Lower Merion School District.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help generate money for the school, which has seen teachers paying hundreds of dollars a year, out of pocket, for classroom supplies.

Since launching April 17, nearly $6,000 of the $20,000 goal has been raised as of April 27.

Raised funds will be used for:

  • Weekly Readers from Scholastic and Time Magazine to function as Science and Social Studies curriculum.
  • High interest, low-level nonfiction books to be used for guided reading and small group literacy instruction in order to help raise students' reading levels.
  • All necessary materials that will be used to supplement the educational needs of Webster students.
  • Webster also could use company funding to purchase student uniforms, underwear, coats, and school bags.
  • Supplemental technology needs.
