WATCH: Wynnewood Girl Qualifies For Millrose Games Mile

The local sophomore ran the second fastest indoor girls mile in Pennsylvania history.

WYNNEWOOD, PA -- A Wynnewood teenager is headed to the prestigious Millrose Games in New York City after her performance at a meet last month.

Gabby Wilkinson, a sophomore at Friends Central School, ran 4:57.75 at the Marine Corps Holiday Classic, held at the famed 168th Street Armory in New York City.

The meet was held December 30.

It’s the second fastest indoor girls mile in Pennsylvania history. She just edged out Hannah Bonaguidi, a Delaware Valley High School senior, by .04 for the victory.

Her win at Marine Corps secures her an automatic entry into Millrose.

Wilkinson has shown incredible range and speed, as she recently broke the Friends Central girls school record in the indoor 400, racing to a time of 59.63 at the recent Delaware Valley Girls’ Track Coaches Association meet at Haverford College.

She shattered the six year old record, previously held by Imani Shell, by over four seconds.
