West Montgomery Ave Closing For 10 Weeks In Villanova

A portion of West Montgomery Avenue will be closed 24 hours a day for 10 weeks in the Villanova section of Lower Merion Township.

VILLANOVA, PA — A portion of West Montgomery Avenue in the Villanova section of Lower Merion Township will be closed for nearly a dozen weeks soon, the township said.

According to the township, the road will be fully closed for 24 hours a day starting Monday, June 14.

The closure will last for 10 weeks to accommodate gas main drilling work

The affected portion is between Spring Mill and Matsonford roads.

This is the resumption of gas main drilling work needed to go under the stream bed on West Montgomery Avenue. Work was stopped in March/April due to groundwater problems. Use alternate routes or the designated detour routes, which are the same as they were for the earlier work zone.

Work on Matsonford Road will be completed before work on Montgomery Avenue resumes.
