Lower Merion Township said at one point, the road will close completely, day and night, for eight weeks.

The township said the closure will be in effect for up to 12 weeks and a detour will be in place for those who do not know the local roads. There will also be an eight-week stretch where the same stretch of West Montgomery Avenue will be closed completely, all day and night, for underground directional drilling work. Residents will be notified when the full closure goes into effect.
Drivers are urged to use Old Gulph, Conshohocken State, or County Line roads as alternate routes to get around the road closure.
