Wynnewood Doctor Charged With Social Security Fraud

Burton allegedly tried to collect Social Security by pretending to be a victim of PTSD.

WYNNEWOOD, PA -- A Wynnewood dotor has been charged with defrauding Social Security.

Frederick Douglas Burton, 67, of Conshohocken, allegedly signed and sent letters on behalf of another doctor, Philly.com reports.

Burton works at the Burton Wellness & Injury Center on City Avenue in Wynnewood.

The letters were sent to a law firm that helps clients receive their Social Security disability payments, the report states.

Burton claimed that another doctor who was his patient was unable to work due to post traumatic stress disorder, the report states.

But Burton was not a psychiatrist, and did not diagnose Von Kiel with PTSD, the charges allege.

Burton faces up to 40 years in prison.
