Wynnewood Jewish School Threatened, Police On Alert

WYNNEWOOD, PA --Police are on alert after a Jewish school in Lower Merion received threats against it on Tuesday, Lower Merion police said.

A caller to the Kaiserman JCC at City Avenue and Haverford Road allegedly said that he wanted to ”kill Jews” before hanging up, police said.

Lower Merion police responded to the scene and thoroughly investigated the complex with the assistance of trained explosive detection dogs, but nothing of note was found, police said.

The Joseph and Florence Mandel Jewish Day School, a Jewish school in Beachwood, Ohio was also threatened Tuesday, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports.

“There is currently no information on any known credible threat regarding these incidents,” Lower Merion police said. “As a precaution, police will be providing extra attention to all of our school institutions throughout the week.”

An investigation is ongoing.
