WYNNEWOOD, PA — Wynnewood's John Troncelliti Barbershop has found a new home down the road.

Owner John Troncelliti said instead of closing for good, he is relocating his business just a few miles away in Devon.

John Troncelliti Barbershop Devon is schedule to open sometime this month at 868 Lancaster Ave., about a 20-minute, eight-mile drive from the current 50 E. Wynnewood Road location.

Troncelliti said the move came about after announcing the shop's closure in September.

"Since the announcement of the closing of my barbershop nearly three months ago, several developments have taken place," Troncelliti told Patch. "Although the decision to close was made due to the impending expiration of my lease, this past Oct. 1, our landlord Federal Realty Investment Trust, granted our Barbershop an extension to a month-to-month lease."

Troncelliti said over the following weeks he developed a long term plan to continue providing barber services.

He and his team decided on the Devon location eventually.

The new shop will offer free shopfront parking. It is located indirectly across from the Devon Whole Foods Market and Starbucks, and next to NovaCare.

Troncelliti's clients will find a similar look and atmosphere they have come to know over the shop's 60 years of cutting hair in Wynnewood.

And Troncelliti said this move wouldn't have happened without those loyal customers.

"But the determination to continue on was made due to the outpouring of support from all our loyal customers, who wanted our barbershop not to fade away into history as a local icon."
