WYNNEWOOD, PA — The St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood will be moving.

According to a letter from Rev. Timothy Christian Senior and Gwynedd Mercy University President Deanne D’Emilio, the school and seminary signed a non-binding letter that lays out the relocation of the seminary to a portion of the school's campus.

Senior and D'Emilio reassured that both institutions will remain separate and that this is not a merger or consolidation.

Following the relocation, details about the future of the 100 E. Wynnewood Road facility will be determined. Information on the Wynnewood property's sale will be provided at a later date.

The relocation would include about 15 acres of space at the back of university's campus and include Alexandria Hall and Visitation House.

The residential housing and Campus Ministry functions currently located in those buildings would be transitioned to others areas of university's campus.

There are still many contingencies that will need to be satisfied before any plans could move forward.

The estimated time for this transaction to reach conclusion is approximately two to three years if all the conditions are met.
