Seating is the primary focus, with numerous sets and pairs of upholstered bar chairs, bar stools, dining chairs, and molded plastic seating. Styles range from contemporary and industrial to Mid-Century Modern inspired designs. Many examples feature grey or light-colored upholstery paired with black metal frames, while others incorporate curved wood or wood-veneer backrests, tubular frames, sled bases, tapered legs, and integrated footrests.
The auction also includes numerous coordinated bar-height and café table sets. Tables feature wood, white laminate, and faux marble tops paired with black, chrome, brushed metal, or black-and-brass pedestal and frame designs. Several larger industrial-style high-top tables measure approximately six feet long and are accompanied by matching or complementary stools, while smaller round pedestal tables provide options for café, restaurant, and hospitality seating arrangements.

The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center will host this spectacular event September 17 - September 20, 2026 featuring over 1000 works of textile art. Additionally, the festival offers vendors, hands on workshops, lectures, a fashion show and product demos. Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza is the center of it all for quilt, wearable and textile art! A highlight of this year’s event is a special exhibition by 7-time Tony Award-winning actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein. Best known for writing La Cage aux Folles and Kinky Boots and starring as Edna in Hairspray, Harvey has been making quilts for more than 30 years. During the COVID lockdown, his passion for quilting flourished, inspiring a remarkable collection of quilt art that the Extravaganza is thrilled to premiere. <a href="https://phillyfringe.org/events/baggage-from-baghdad-becoming-my-fathers-daughter/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Baggage From BaghDAD: Becoming My Father’s Daughter</a> is a gripping, award-winning solo show that is timely as it mirrors today's growing intolerance of race and religion in our own backyards and worldwide, written and performed by Valerie David. Due to religious persecution during the 1941 “Farhud pogrom,” Valerie’s paternal Middle Eastern Jewish family was forced to flee Iraq and build a new home in America.

This play highlights her family’s struggle to immigrate to a new land and transcend their harrowing past, so that love and the importance of family triumph. Valerie states, “It’s not just a Jewish story, but a narrative that anyone can relate to: having to immigrate to another country, being forced to evacuate during wartime, suffering bullying, and the ramifications of having to adapt to a foreign culture that’s not so welcoming.”

Baggage From BaghDAD finds humor and hope, even in the darkest of times. It recounts how this painful legacy shaped Valerie’s own life and her evolving relationship with her father, uncovering a story of survival, identity, and ultimately, reconciliation.

Artist George Robert “Bob” Overhiser Jr. will discuss Impact: Reflections of 9/11, a moving exhibition of abstract works inspired by his experience as a survivor of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Overhiser was inside the South Tower of the World Trade Center when the plane struck. After escaping the building, he took shelter beside a vendor cart—a moment that would later become central to his artistic response to the tragedy. His works on canvas and stainless steel explore the ways memory, trauma, survival, and resilience can be expressed through abstraction. The reflective surfaces of the stainless-steel works evoke the distorted images and fragmented scenes one might have seen reflected in the shiny metal of the vendor cart.
The public is invited to begin by viewing the exhibition in the Gallery, followed by a conversation with Overhiser in the Fullerton Room, where he will share the personal experiences and creative process behind this powerful collection.
Overhiser is the founder of Portrait Portfolio LLC. He earned a degree in Visual Studies from Dartmouth College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
