Bart's Bagels soft-launched a new location in Bala Cynwyd, where the Frankel brothers grew up. It opened for two hours Thursday morning at 273 Montgomery Ave.

With two locations in Philly, Bart's has built a following by sticking to traditional bagel-making techniques.

The bagels are kettle-boiled, slowly cold-fermented and baked on burlap boards in a revolving oven, creating a chewy interior and crisp, golden-brown crust with seeds on both sides.

Bart's is also known for breakfast sandwiches, smoked fish, house-whipped cream cheeses and house-smoked meats.

The new shop in Bala had a quiet soft launch from 9-11 a.m., which was announced just moments before on the business's Facebook and Instagram stories.

Future hours haven't been revealed as of this writing.
