The man was armed with a handgun and was unable to steal the victim's car because it was manual transmission, police said.

BALA CYNWYD, PA – An armed carjacker was arrested after he attempted to steal a car Tuesday afternoon in Bala Cynwyd. The attempt failed because the suspect was unable to drive the car, as it featured a manual transmission, Lower Merion Township officials said.

Police said that at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, a man armed with a handgun attempted to carjack a 2001 Honda Civic on the 100 block of Edgehill Road in Bala Cynwyd.
