Belmont Hills Library Closing For 10-Month Renovation Project
A "Goodbye (for now) Party" will be held Saturday, Nov. 4 at the library ahead of the nearly year-long closure.

BALA CYNWYD, PA – The Belmont Hills Library in Bala Cynwyd will close this weekend for a 10-month renovation and expansion project and you can say "goodbye for now" to the library on Saturday, Nov. 4.
The library will close Saturday, Nov. 4 but the "Goodby (for now) Party" will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. that same day at the library.
The party will include cake, light refreshments, kid-friendly activities, and viewings of the new library layout and plans.

Renovation and expansion work at Belmont Hills is the sixth and final library project in the township.

The work will include an expansion featuring a meeting room, handicapped accessible bathrooms and a
reading patio overlooking the Belmont Hills pool and adjacent park.
When the work is done, the reading patio will feature seating, Wi-Fi, and electrical outlets. You can also purchase a custom engraved brick for $100 on the patio. Learn more about getting your own brick here.
The existing library will receive new paint, carpeting and updated furniture. Mechanical systems will be upgraded and parking will be improved, as well.
During the closure, residents can use any of the other five Lower Merion libraries, in addition to the Narberth Library.
Weekly story times will continue at the Belmont Hills Community Center, 50 Ashland Ave., Bala Cynwyd, on Tuesday mornings.
Funding for the project is provided by the Township of Lower Merion, library donors, and a $500,000 grant from the state’s Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, the township said.
