Cops, Firemen Rush Into Burning Building, Rescue 3
Their heroic actions saved three lives.

LOWER MERION, PA -- Three people were rescued from a burning home in Lower Merion late Tuesday night, according to officials.
Crews were called to the scene on Raynham Road at about 11:55 p.m., according to fire officials. Heavy flames were coming from the second floor of the home. Companies 28 and 26 responded.
When the police arrived, they discovered that the occupants of the home were unaccounted for, and they immediately entered the blaze and pulled two people from the front of the home.

Engine 28 arrived and put a handline in service, officials said. Fire crews then began a search for one of the occupants. Ladder 21 and Ladder 26 assisted with the primary searches and ventilation.
Fire crews discovered and rescused the third victim from the second floor.

The scene was cleared in about 40 minutes, officials said.
Police officers Black, Lalor, DiGiovanni, Calabrese and Iushewitz were all involved in their heroic rescue, police said.
All three were taken to the hospital, according to officials. One had smoke inhalation. Their conditions are unknown.
The cause of the fire is unclear. An investigation is ongoing.
