Harriton Opens Football Season With 41-26 Win Over Chichester

The Rams fought hard in their win Friday over the Eagles, despite some mistakes early on.

IN SHORT

Harriton struck first with less than two minutes of play in the first quarter with a touchdown pass from junior quarterback Pat Moriarty to junior Eric Korn. Junior Michael Maj intercepted an Eagles first-down pass, setting up a 38-yard Moriarty touchdown pass to junior Juwan Valentine. But Chichester fought back hard in the second quarter, beginning with an interception by senior Eagle Laquan Lambert.

The Rams took back possession, leading to another Moriarty-Valentine touchdown, this time a 22-yard pass to the corner of the end zone. Chichester responded with two touchdowns before the end of the half, for a score of 21-14.

The Eagles fail an attempt for a two point conversion with less than two minutes left in the quarter.  The Rams took back possession leading to another Moriarty-Valentine touchdown. Valentine capped off the fourth quarter with a 70-yard punt return, ending the scoring at 41-26.

THEY SAID  IT

“Tonight was a real eye-opener for us,” Barr said. “Chichester is tough. They beat us up pretty good. The film session is going to be very ugly.”
