Narberth Foundation Awards $20K To Main Line Jewish School, Synagogue

The Kohelet Foundation in Narberth's grant will help a Jewish school and synagogue draw in more Jewish families to the Main Line.

NARBERTH, PA – The Kohelet Foundation in Narberth recently awarded two area Jewish institutions a sizeable grant that was used to create a website encouraging more Jewish families to consider the Main Line as their home. The foundation generates and supports Jewish communal responsibility for day schools, among parents, philanthropists, and the greater Jewish community, according to the its website.

Chabad of Penn Wynne private school and the Congregation Beth Hamedrosh were recipients of a $20,000 grant from the foundation.

According to the Jewish Exponent, the funds will be used to promote Wynnewood as a prime destination for Jewish families in the Philadelphia area.

"What I like about this area is my children have friends with children a couple years older than them, a
couple years younger than them," Rabbi Yonah Gross from Beth Hamedrosh told the Jewish Exponent. "And they are also friendly and have great relationships with members of the shul that are old enough to be their grandparents. They have many surrogate bubbes, zeides, uncles, aunts. That’s a great experience that they’ve had growing up."
