Narberth Taking On Plastic Free July Challenge
The Narberth Civic Association is asking Narberth residents to try for a plastic-free July in an effort to be more eco-friendly.
NARBERTH, PA — In an effort to be more environmentally friendly, the Narberth Civic Association is asking resident to take up the Plastic Free July Challenge.
During the entire month of July, the public is encouraged to refuse single-use plastic items, such as straws and bags.
Started in Western Australia in 2011, Plastic Free July aims to raise awareness of the problems with single-use disposable plastic and challenges people to do something about it.

Ways to meet the challenge include:

- Avoiding products in plastic packaging (choose alternatives)
- Reducing where possible (opt for refills, remember your reusable shopping bags)
- Refusing plastics that escape as litter (e.g. straws, takeaway cups, utensils, balloons)
- Recycling what cannot be avoided
