PECO Invests $14 Million In Narberth Natural Gas Projects

PECO is spending a big chunk of money to improve their services in Lower Merion.

LOWER MERION, PA -- PECO is investing more than $14 million this year to enhance the local natural gas distribution system in Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough, according to a press release.

This work, which began in late February and will continue through the rest of the year, is part of a multi-year plan to modernize PECO’s natural gas system.

Projects include replacing existing natural gas main and bare steel natural gas service lines with new plastic pipe, which enhances safety, is more durable and improves service reliability.

“We continuously review our natural gas distribution system to identify opportunities to further improve service and enhance safety,” said Ron Bradley, vice president of Gas Operations. “This work ensures we can continue to provide safe, reliable natural gas service to our customers.”

These projects are part of more than $100 million in capital investments that PECO is making to its natural gas system this year.
