Penn Valley Man Faces Prison Time, $1M In Fines For Tax Evasion
He admitted to hiding his assets and income in 2008 and then stopped filing and paying his federal taxes, prosecutors said.

PENN VALLEY, PA – A Penn Valley man who was accused of tax evasion, including hiding his assets and income, faces prison time and heft fines after pleading guilty recently, according to federal prosecutors.
Craig Rosen, 60, of the Penn Valley section of Lower Merion Township, pleaded guilty on Monday, Nov. 20 to four counts of tax evasion, according to United States Attorney Louis D. Lappen.
Rosen faces a maximum possible sentence of 20 years jail time and fines of up to $1 million, federal officials said. Full restitution to the IRS of more than $300,000 is also part of Rosen's plea.

Rose was charged after he tried to evade and defeat the assessment and payment of federal income taxes between 2009 and 2012, according to Lappen's office.
In connection with his agreement to plead guilty, the defendant admitted that after 2008, he began to take steps to hide his assets and income, and stopped filing federal tax returns and paying federal income taxes, Lappen's office said.

The case was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Bea L. Witzleben.
