Police Investigate Armed Robbery of City Avenue Radio Shack

Three employees were held at gunpoint, police said.

Two men armed with handguns entered the Radio Shack on City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd on Dec. 19 about 9 p.m. and kept three employees at bay while they stole a television, Apple iPhones and other merchandise, police said Tuesday.

The men came into the store just as the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center shop was about to close, police said. They were described as two black males, the first in his 20s and about 6 feet tall, and the second in his 40s and about 5 feet 9 inches or 5 feet 10 inches.

After corralling the employees together at gunpoint, the thieves filled bags with electronics, including at least 13 iPhones, an Apple iPad, and a 32-inch Samsung flatscreen TV. The pair then escaped out the back door of the store, police said.
