Pet portraits with the majesty and grandeur of the 18th Century Classics

Americans loves their pets! In fact, over 57 percent of ‘pet parents’ say it is a deal breaker if their significant other doesn’t have the same attraction. With that news in mind, we are proud to announce the launch of PortraitofMyPet.com in the Philadelphia marketplace. Through PortraitofMyPet.com, you can commission a portrait of your dog, cat, horse, bull, pig, bird, chicken, rooster…in the grandeur and mastery that is reminiscent of 18th Century Classical Photography.
The man behind the camera lens at PortraitofMyPet.com is area photographer and artist, Andrew Pinkham. “Six years ago, I set out to create a body of work that draws on my childhood influences. After visiting houses that had grand and opulent paintings portraying their ancestors and creature companions, painters such as George Stubbs, James Audubon impacted my work in a big way,” Pinkham said.
Pinkham recently exhibited at the National Dog Show, in Oaks, PA, which aired nationally on Thanksgiving Day. Pinkham enjoyed meeting so many dog and animal lovers who were wowed by his stately approach to photography. His unique style blends both photography and illustration by modern day means of fabrication. All portraits are printed on archival canvas with archival inks.

“It’s important to me to challenge the beliefs of what we think of as historical or authentic,” Pinkham continued, “whether it was made yesterday or hundreds of years ago.”
Today’s pets are viewed as true members of the family. In a survey of 600 pet owners nationwide, Old Mother Hubbard found that over 54% of American pet parents tell their pets, “I love you,” on a daily basis.

PortraitofMyPet.com is a wonderful way to celebrate and honor the creatures in your life. Pinkham starts all commissions with a phone consultation. From there, an on-site photo session with your animal is scheduled. Small animals like dogs and cats are shot indoors. Horses and other larger animals are photographed outdoors. Once a favorite shot is chosen, Pinkham heads off to start the post-work in studio.
Not in Philadelphia? No worries. Andrew travel arrangements can be secured to capture your animal in the comforts of their home.
