Grab your soft pretzel, it’s another exciting softball update!! In a display of camaraderie in its truest form, the 12U girls fought a grueling, all-day battle in their quest for the championship. This team defied the forces of nature in the heat and pouring down rain, playing 28 straight innings at the Plum tournament last weekend. These 12U girls began their day at 9:45 a.m. and never gave up their spirit; playing 4 back-to-back games until the semi-final against West Mifflin. It was in this game, they lost 14-13 in the bottom of the 7th inning which ended their day at 4:45 p.m. This is a story of perseverance against all odds. Coach Jen Knezevich states, “The girls played fantastic ball all day Sunday. They worked as a team, and they rallied together when they needed to get to the semi-finals. The coaches could not be more proud of their efforts.” Next up for 12U, Bethel Park tournament next weekend. Good luck 12U girls! You are amazingly talented and have shown us the true meaning of team spirit.
