2010 Census Shows Changes in Baldwin-Whitehall’s Demographics
Asian-only residents now make up the second-largest racial group in both Whitehall Borough and Baldwin Township. The district's total population has shrunk.
Results of the 2010 U.S. Census indicate significant changes in Baldwin-Whitehall’s racial demographics over the past 10 years.
For example, while the 2000 Census revealed that 96.2 percent of residents considered themselves “white only,” that number fell to 91.6 percent in 2010.
The second-largest portion of Baldwin Borough’s population in 2000 was made up of residents claiming to be “black or African-American only” and who constituted 2.4 percent of the borough’s total population. In 2010, that number jumped to 5.3 percent, keeping “black or African-American only” as the borough’s second-most popular race.
