Baldwin Borough Officials Mulling Late-Night Parking Ban

officials are considering a ban on late-night parking (2 to 6 a.m.) on in-borough streets.

An ordinance that would enact the ban is still being written, and borough officials have not yet announced when that proposed ordinance would be voted on.

Among the particulars being considered are whether or not the ban should be enforced all year or during the winter months only.

Residents in and —the two other parts of the —are already restricted to a year-round on-street parking ban from 2 to 6 a.m.

Also being considered is whether or not the ban should apply to every Baldwin Borough street or select areas only, such as the .

Concerns range from how to pay for the many necessary no-parking signs to how to handle residences with multiple cars but not enough on-property parking space.

Rationale for the ban, at least on some streets, is to keep roads empty for snowplows, regular traffic and public safety patrol.
