
competed in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Bowling League girls team championships at Family Bowlaway on Thursday, Feb. 24.
The Baldwin girls, who racked up a 9-1 section record this season on their way to a WPIBL Central Section championship, finished in 10th place in the WPIBL team championships on Thursday with a score of 2,142. Hempfield Area High School ran away with the team title with a 2,762 score.
Junior Ashley Niziol was Baldwin's top finisher with a 514 total, but it was sophomore Lizzie Geis who notched the Highlanders' highest individual-game score by collecting an impressive 205 in the third game. Geis finished right behind Niziol with a 480 total.

Baldwin's senior Kaitie Baldauf rolled a 410, and junior Stephanie Bihary racked up a 397. Senior Mona Kazour collected a 341 to round out her team's five-woman total.
Baldwin's boys, also Central Section champions this season after posting a 10-0 section record, tied for third place in the WPIBL team championships at White Oak Bowl on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

The Highlanders boys and girls will now compete in the individual regional bowling championships at North Versailles Bowling Center on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 9 a.m.
The team regional championships will be held there the next day, also at 9 a.m. Full Baldwin boys and girls squads will compete in that team event as well.
Based on their performances from this season, three Baldwin girls will compete in the individual regional championships – Niziol, Geis and Baldauf.
Seniors Tyler Sterrett, Drew Hartman, Jim Stoicovy and Matt Groesch and junior Neil Debski will represent Baldwin during the boys individual regional championships.
