Baldwin Grad Is Featured Columnist on Bleacher Report
T.J. McAloon, a Baldwin Township native, writes about sports at all levels.

T.J. McAloon has always had opinions about sports, and now, he has a megaphone—and a large one at that.
McAloon, a native and a 2001 graduate, has been writing for the ever-popular Bleacher Report, an online sports news service, since August 2010.
Bleacher Report articles are mostly opinion columns, and McAloon's works are no exception. Based on auditions and Web traffic, McAloon is a "Featured Columnist" for BR, and different than most of the site's writers, he is paid for his work—a status that he had to earn.

"The team I work on now is a selected group of writers," McAloon said, "as we are the only full-time paid writers out of the thousands that write for the site."
Officially, McAloon is a Level II Featured Columnist.

"(Bleacher Report) has given me a career that I wake up every morning and get excited to go to work for," he said. "And that's something that not too many people can say about their jobs.
"I get to share my views every day about something I'm passionate about with people who are as passionate as I am. And that's something I cherish every day when I go to work.
" ... For the writers that aren't full-time, the site gives (them) an outlet, too."
The Baldwin High grad's immediate family still lives in Baldwin Township, but McAloon now lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Sarah, whom he .
Prior to moving to Indianapolis, T.J. lived in Austin, Texas, for four years and worked in sports marketing. He played volleyball and roller hockey at Baldwin High and is a 2005 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in sport management.
T.J. has also been paid for previous work on the Baldwin-Whitehall Patch, having penned four articles for his hometown news site: ; ; ; and .

He hopes to eventually become an editor or a video correspondent for BR.
McAloon has received some acclaim for his recent piece on former NBA player Chris Herren.
