Baldwin Man Dead, Woman Injured After Being Struck By Train

The fatal accident occurred Wednesday near Station Square.

PITTSBURGH, PA - A Baldwin man was killed and a woman injured Wednesday after they were struck by a train on the South Side. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and East Carson Street near Station Square.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Conlan Onder, 20. The woman, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said the pair were walking along the tracks. It is unclear why they did not hear the train. Norfolk Southern issued a statement saying the horn was sounded the horn and the train was put in braking but could not avoid striking Onder and the woman.
