Baldwin Nixes Proposed Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility
Residents were concerned about the plant possibly opening on Streets Run Road.

BALDWIN, PA - The borough zoning hearing board has denied a hazardous waste disposal company's attempt to locate in the borough. The panel denied the application of Tradebe Environmental Services opening a facility in the 4000 block of Streets Run Road.
Residents at the board meeting Thursday expressed concerns over the possibility of dangerous chemical seeping into the ground or leaking into the air, WTAE-TV reported. They also were apprehensive of the facility opening on Streets Run Road, which is prone to flooding.
According to its website, Tradebe manages more than two million tons of waste annually, recycling 60 percent of that waste. The company has provided environmental services since 1984 through the treatment, recovery and recycling of waste.
