Baldwin Shooting Victim Dies; Teen Charged With Homicide, Robbery

Police say the 17-year-old victim was shot in the head.

BALDWIN, PA - A borough teen has been arrested in the shooting death of another teen following a robbery. Nathan Lee, 16, is in the Allegheny County Jail charged in the shooting death of Nathan Assad, 17.

Assad died around 6 a.m. Wednesday in a local trauma unit after being shot Tuesday evening. Baldwin police and paramedics were dispatched to the intersection of Horning Road and Curry Road at about 8:15 p.m. after a 911 call and found Assad wounded in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

According to county police, Assad and a friend had been robbed at a house in the 400 block of Lucy Drive and were following the people who robbed them. Lee allegedly fired a gun at the car and the shot struck Assad.

Lee has been charged with criminal homicide, robbery, recklessly endangering another person and weapons violations.
