Dear Baldwin-Whitehall School District Community:

The preparation for the back to school mailing for this school year is currently underway. Schools are working to confirm hybrid or remote selections, transportation requests as well as accommodations related to which days of the week students will attend in person. All that preparation is taking time and it is our goal to get it right!
The back to school packets will contain information confirming which instructional learning program that has been selected, what days of the week the children are expected to be in school (hybrid option) as well as transportation information.

Our timeline as of today is as follows:
- August 17 to 23 – Continue making contact with families to determine educational preferences
- August 24 and 25 – Prepare student mailing for post office
- August 26 – Student mailing delivered to post office
- August 27 to 29 – Student mailing arrives at BW residences
- September 3 – First day of school for all students (held remotely)
The schedule for the first day of school as well as the week of September 3-11, 2020 will be communicated to students and families from the school building. The days will include a mix of synchronous, live activities, in person material/item distribution, as well as recorded activities.
While we realize the timing of the mailing is later and with less lead time prior to the first day of school, there is not much about this school year that will fit nicely into the phrase "we did it that way last year." Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to organize for a very different learning and teaching experience.
Sincerely,
Randal A. Lutz, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
