Baldwin-Whitehall Schools Awarded State STEM Grant
Several Central Bucks schools have received STEM grants thanks to the PAsmart initiative.

BALDWIN,, PA — Several Baldwin-Whitehall schools have received STEM grants thanks to the PAsmart initiative. The grants, worth up to $35,000, were awarded to several local school districts. (See full list here)
The following Baldwin-Whitehall schools will utilize the grant funds, the state announced:
- McAnulty Elementary
- Whitehall Elementary
- Paynter Elementary
The PAsmart initiative was launched by Gov. Tom Wolf in response to a future demand for STEM jobs. The state has made available $30 million that will be awarded as grants aimed to "strategically invest" in education and workforce development.

According to the Department of Education, the grants will expand classroom instruction and professional development in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and computer science (CS), as well as training for in-demand careers, emerging industries, and underserved populations.
The state Department of Education estimates that 300,000 STEM jobs will be available in Pennsylvania by 2026.
