Baldwin-Whitehall Schools Roundup: Veterans Day Tribute Planned

BALDWIN, PA - Here’s what’s going on this week in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District:

  • Seventh Annual Transition and Employment Fair

Eric Jankoski and the Baldwin High School transition team at Baldwin High School will host the seventh-annual Transition and Employment Fair on Nov. 9 from 6-8 p.m. The event highlights opportunities for individuals with disabilities but is open to anyone, with many vendors offering services for all.
In addition to the employment representatives present, there will be light refreshments, door prizes, and raffles. The largest event of its kind in the area, this event is a collaboration of many area organizations including ACLD Tillotson School, Wesley High School and the school Districts of Baldwin-Whitehall, Bethel Park, Brentwood Borough, Carlynton, Clairton, Elizabeth Forward, Keystone Oaks, Mt. Lebanon, South Park, West Jefferson Hills, and West Mifflin.

  • Harrison Middle School Hosting Veterans Day Recognition

Harrison Middle School will host a Veterans Day celebration on Friday and will honor veterans through different activities. Sixth graders will decorate classroom doors, seventh graders will attend an assembly to honor all military branches and veterans and eighth graders will make donations and write letters to vets in their U.S. History class.Any veteran of any military branch is invited to attend the celebration.

  • Educators Visit Escape Room for Creative Team Building

District educators will get an escape from their regular routine with an in-service experience at the Escape Room Pittsburgh. The escape room activity requires colleagues to interact with each other, solve puzzles as a team and build closer bonds with one another. This experience shows people’s different skill sets and strengths while challenging them in an entertaining manner.
