Baldwin-Whitehall Teachers, Staff To Aid Seniors
The inaugural Community Caring Day will send teachers out of the classroom and into seniors' homes to help.

BALDWIN, PA - Baldwin-Whitehall School District will initiate a new program next week in which superintendent Randy Lutz, district teachers and professional staff will perform chores for senior citizens living in Baldwin Borough, Whitehall and Baldwin Township.
Conceived by Lutz, a Baldwin native, the May 4 Community Caring Day will have district staff breaking out in teams from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to assist the seniors. (In case you’re wondering who will be teaching your students during that period, don’t worry - they have an early dismissal that day.)
The district solicited residents to call in with the work they needed completed. Instead of having students open their textbooks on Friday, teachers and administrators according to a district release will be:

- Performing yard work.
- Painting railings and lawn furniture.
- Pulling up carpeting.
- Greasing a garage door chain.
- Make store purchases.
