Baldwin Wins Kelly Award For Best Musical

The recent production of "Zorro" also won two other awards.

BALDWIN, PA - Baldwin High School was a big winner at Saturday's Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Awards, taking home the prize for best musical in its budget division for “Zorro: The Musical.”

Baldwin also won two other Kellys, for best execution of direction and best execution of music direction. The recent production of the musical received 12 nominations in various categories.

Additionally, Baldwin senior Nick Cortazzo received a $4,000 scholarship from the Pittsburgh CLO Guild. He was one of nine students awarded the scholarship, which is given to students who plan to study theater arts in college. Cortazzo played Zorro and received a Kelly Award nomination for best actor.

Baldwin also won for best musical last year for its production of “Big Fish.”
