Baldwin Woman Used Motel 6 As Fentanyl Lab

They'll likely leave the lights on in federal prison for Angel Grannison after she pleaded guilty to a drug charge.

BALDWIN, PA - A Baldwin woman faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine after pleading guilty in federal court to running a fentanyl lab at area Motel 6. Angel Grannison, 32, pleaded guilty to a charge of maintaining a drug-involved premises, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Scott Brady.

Allegheny County police and a Drug Enforcement agent were called to the motel in May after receiving reports of a strong chemical odor coming from a room. Garrison was inside the room, which contained a fentanyl synthesis lab in the bathroom.

Authorities found commercial chemistry equipment, chemicals obtained from China, a journal with fentanyl production notes and a “Chemistry for Dummies” book in the room.

Grannison is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 12.
